Large Applique Letters

The gettymops Letter Bunting is a best-seller. Individual, lightly padded applique-edged letters are hand-cut and hung from a length of out-sized soft cotton cord or rope from satin ribbons. I stitch the ribbons on using a star design for boys and a heart design for girls, which I think is an essential detail. The length is finished off with a choice of end pieces: Stars, Fish, Sailing Boats, Airplanes, Hearts or Butterflies. Large buttons are hand sewn to each end piece to make a great alternative to the traditional wooden letters for a child's bedroom door or wall - what fun!

The Large Applique Letters are roughly A4 in size, again lightly padded and hand-cut, but include contrasting patches, appliqued on to give them a patchwork look. A complimenting ribbon and button are added to allow the letters to be hung on a door or wall.

I have a vast collection of fabrics with which to create each length, picking complimenting fabrics or fabrics which may match an existing theme, or even one of the gettymops Collections. It is in the Letter Bunting and Large Applique Letters that I am able to use some of my more beautiful vintage fabrics, of which I often only have small amounts, so these pieces are really special.
